Core team

Camilla Davila

Founder & chief strategist

A scribbler and daydreamer from a young age, Camilla has had a lifelong love affair with storytelling. Growing up between New York and Naples, she went on to live in Paris and Tokyo before making an expected detour to Brussels (and proudly calling it home). Each stop along the way deepened her curiosity about people, cultures, and languages — and shaped the way she thinks about communication. Her professional journey spans the public and private sectors across the US, Asia, and Europe, taking on roles from public affairs and strategic communications to campaigning and advocacy. She is drawn to projects that sit at the intersection of cultures and disciplines, and is passionate about using communication as a tool for social impact. A proud freelancer, she works with associations, companies, and civil society organisations to build the skills and confidence to tell their stories and elevate their voices. She started the Comms Collective after going freelance and feeling disconnected from her professional community. With the Collective, she hopes to build a welcoming space where communications professionals can connect, collaborate, and grow together.

Celeste Alvi

Partnerships & innovation

A self-professed bookworm from an early age, Celeste has always been captivated by the power of the written word, viewing language as an art form in its own right. Originally from Italy, Celeste has studied, lived, and worked in a remarkable array of cities — Freiburg, Nanjing, Shanghai, London, and Berlin — each stop broadening her perspective on how people connect across borders. Celeste’s professional path has naturally led her to become a communications consultant, specialising in crafting global communication briefs and facilitating dialogue between different corners of the world. Motivated by a desire to see communications recognised as a vital, strategic function, Celeste was drawn to the Comms Collective as a community where professionals can come together to share ideas and champion the value of their work.

Paula Ritter-Moschütz

Digital engagement & editorial

Paula is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, though like many people in the EU bubble, her background is a mixed bag of different cultures and languages. Her path into communications has been anything but linear: she studied Social Sciences and Political Communication and has since worked across communications roles in the private sector, NGOs, and public institutions. (Fun fact: In a different lifetime, Celeste was her boss.) She now works as a press officer at the European Commission’s Spokesperson’s Service. She joined the Comms Collective because, despite communications being a well-established field, it’s still too often treated as an afterthought rather than a core function. Her hope is that the Collective becomes a space where people can genuinely connect, exchange ideas, and continue growing — both professionally and personally.

Eleanor Mee

Brand strategy & finance

Eleanor is originally from Ireland and a lifelong lover of stories and language. As a communications professional, she is a bit of a jack of all trades, but her core focus is strategic communications and content creation. Her academic background in English literature turned out to be the perfect foundation for a career in communications: it taught her how narratives shape perception, how ‘spin’ works, and how strong brand identities are built. She has been part of the Comms Collective from the very beginning, watching a simple idea grow into a fully fledged professional initiative. Her hope for the Collective is that it will act as a space where communications professionals across the spectrum can find guidance and community to help them flourish in their roles.

Simone Manlove

Data & development strategy

Simone is a corporate communications and reputation advisor with a transatlantic background and a soft spot for navigating complexity. She recently relocated to Brussels, bringing with her experience shaped by Washington DC and sunny Spain. She spends her days advising global organisations on policy storytelling, executive visibility, and how to communicate with clarity and credibility in tricky political and media environments. Through the Comms Collective, she hopes to strengthen the case for communications as a truly strategic discipline in Brussels — and to become part of a community championing thoughtful and inspiring storytelling, professional excellence, and cross-sector collaboration.
